User-obsessed designs

I balance putting users at the center of every design decision with remaining in scope of project requirements to create engaging experiences that effectively achieve important business outcomes and delight users.

Task

OCP wanted a self-service digital ecosystem for unmanaged partners to get the guidance, training, and resources they need to be successful working with Microsoft. Their goal was for the experience to guide partners to the best opportunities for their business, keep them constantly engaged, and progressively nurture them towards offering increasingly complex services and solutions without them needing to talk to a live Microsoft representative for support.

Action

I worked with OCP leadership to document high-level partner journeys for offering a new Microsoft product, service or building their own. We identified 4 primary stages: consideration, technical implementation, sales and marketing, and optimization. Based on this understanding, I developed a standard framework of templatized pages to support each journey phase, which were then customized for each specific opportunity by working with OCP subject matter experts to identify important content, required tasks, and personalization opportunities.

Results

The initial 8 Guided Experience boosted OCP’s measured success metrics including engagement rates with important educational content, new membership signups and renewals, and conversion rates for tasks required to launch new apps or services on the Azure marketplace.

Providence Healthcare

Situation: Providence had rapidly grown through mergers and acquisitions. They needed to both update their online presence while creating brand cohesion.

Task: Create a pitch for Providence on how to quickly build a functional, effective website while designing a modern, best in-class digital healthcare experience.

Action: I reviewed Providence’s current websites to identify primary users, tasks, ands journeys, then sketched concepts based on my findings.

Result: I presented an interactive, mobile prototype to the clients, convincingly demonstrated my strategic vision, and VMLY&R won the pitch.
